I will be running the New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 7th, 2010 in memory of Ret Thomas, a very special person that touched my life – and the lives of so many – in an unforgettable way. He battled a rare and virulent form of pediatric cancer known as Ewing’s Sarcoma shortly after his 14th birthday. He died in April 2000.
As a tribute to Ret’s strong courage, determination, faith and spirit, and to give life to his desire to make something positive come from his struggle with cancer, his family has established the RET (Richard E. Thomas III) Pediatric Cancer Foundation. This foundation does so much to support families battling cancer including providing direct financial assistance to help families contend with the devastating impact of uncovered treatment costs and costs related to treatment.
This year we are accepting donations online. Please use the following link:
Any contribution you can make to support this wonderful cause will be appreciated and will make a direct impact in so many lives.
I am so proud to be running this marathon in honor of Ret! I hope you will join me in support of his dream to further the fight against cancer and to help many more families in need.
Thank you! See ya at the finish line!!!
