Background
When Ret was losing his battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma in early 2000, he asked what could be done to help other families in similar situations. This tournament was suggested by the coaches at Hilton Head Prep as a great way to financially support such families and a wonderful way to keep Ret’s memory alive.

Tournament Facts
- This tournament has now become the #1 high school weekend event in America for raising money for Coaches Vs. Cancer.
- This year’s tournament will be held on December 14th, 15th, & 16th.
- Games start Friday night at 6:30 at all local high schools: Hilton Head Prep, Hilton Head Christian Academy, Hilton Head High School, Bluffton High School. Saturday and Sunday games are all at Hilton Head Prep, and begin at noon each day.
Teams
- It is a fabulous weekend of basketball with intense competition between eight area secondary schools: Bluffton High School, Hilton Head Christian Academy, Hilton Head High School, Hilton Head Preparatory School, Porter-Gaud School (Charleston, SC), Hardeeville High School (Hardeeville, SC), Laurence Manning Academy (Manning, SC), and Pinewood Preparatory School (Summerville, SC).
Raffle Prizes
- Ticket: Superbowl, ACC, SEC, and Big East Men’s Basketball Championship
- Box Seats for the 2008 Yankee’s Old Timers’ Game in July
